Modern western culture is a Guilt and Innocence Culture
The rights of the individual are highly valued
How society applies laws is based on guilt and innocence in regards to those laws.
Innocence = righteousness
The culture of biblical times is an honour shame culture
Honour = righteousness
When the Pharisees, Sadducees and Herodians confront Jesus, they seek to shame Him publicly
The religious leaders are not trying to say that Jesus is wrong about something they are trying to say that Jesus is something wrong.
What is the most important commandment?
Love God, love your neighbour.
Hebrews 12:2 says, “Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
